I Am Very Close to Going Postal!
Jan 24th
Last week we got our new furnace, and it was great! Monday we started getting our new floor in. Here we are Thursday night, and we still don’t have a completed kitchen floor, and to top it all off, our brand new furnace is not working anymore, it just puts out very cold air. So now we get to deal with a house that is a mess, and freezing cold on top of it all!
My work is starting to wear thin with my having to leave early, come in late, and most of the time this week it has been for nothing. I really want this week to be over now!
I have to get up at 4am because that is the soonest they can come out to fix our heat! I can’t even begin to describe the anger I am feeling at this point!
Boycott the Peacock! How Can I Do It?
Aug 31st
Apple, today, announced that they will be dropping NBC from its offerings on the iTunes Store. NBC is up for renewal in Dec with their contract with Apple. In order to continue, they have demanded that Apple pay more than double their current wholesale price to offer NBC shows. That increase would mean that episodes would go from $1.99 to $4.99 on iTunes. That is a very hefty price just to watch a show that is free on their website (if you want to watch it at your computer).
I am sure that Universal/Vivendi is behind this move, as Universal Music has long since wanted to raise their prices in iTunes as well. Is it time for the world to start a boycott of this behemouth that seems to feel they need to rip their customers a new one to have access to their material? I would love to do this, save for 2 problems! Eureka and Heroes. These are two of my absolute favorite shows on TV right now. Both of them attached to the NBC label of networks. If I want to truly boycott NBC, I would have to give up two of the three shows I make a point of watching every week. Damn them for having me in their clutches!
I give Apple the thumbs up for standing up for what is right. They don’t want to raise prices on their customers, and it is good to see that they will fight for that over the profit they will loose. Let’s hope that this doesn’t become a trend for other networks that want to raise their prices. It will be interesting to see if Amazon’s Unbox raises their prices, currently at $1.99 like Apple’s. If they are given the same stipulation that Apple has been given, will they turn on NBC, or will they decide they want the profit more? Or will they still be able to get the same deal with NBC that they are currently being given?
I don’t fully understand why it is that Universal/NBC feels that they want to do this, as I am sure many others don’t. Do they really want to send everyone running back to piracy to get the content they are after? I can certainly guarantee that if the price had gone to $4.99 per episode, that there are a large number of people that would have looked that way. Now that NBC Will be absent from iTunes, that may very well be where those people end up anyway. What’s better there Universal? A loss of revenue becuase of prices going up, or a loss of profit from the loss of the largest online retailer of music and video? Either way, this is going to send people right back to piracy that Apple has opened the iTunes store to fight.
Will, I fully boycott NBC? I don’t know… Heroes is the best show to come along on TV in a very long time. I guess it will be time to just go back to recording the show and having to put up with forwarding through commercials.
I Guess I’ve Been Driving to Fast in Our Driveway
Aug 13th
Dan and I awoke yesterday, and left for our brunch. Upon exiting the driveway, I noticed that sometime overnight, the city decided we needed a speed limit sign on our block… Where did it end up? Right in front of my house! No warning, no nothing, it just appeared overnight. The house in the same spot across the street at the other end of the block also got one.
It’s quite an eyesore to have sitting in front of my house… I am not looking forward to the neighborhood hoodlums that decide that it will be fun to vandalize the sign, be it shooting at or spray painting… Ugh, why couldn’t it go in front of the house next door to me?
Anyone else had to deal with this? Is it something that you can do about? Or am I just flat out stuck with this thing in my front yard for the rest of the time I live there? I guess I will have to contact the city and find out.
Aqua De Troit
Jul 27th
Pepsi, today, announced what we have long suspected. They announced that Aquafina water comes from the same tap as the water in your home. New bottles of Aquafina will be labeled as P.W.S. (Public Water Source) after much criticism over making it seem like the water comes from mountain springs.
I have been in many discussions with people over paying the high price for something we can get for free out of taps everywhere. One friend of mine said she could tell the difference between bottled waters almost as if choosing a fine wine. While it probably goes through some kind of purification before being bottled, you can accomplish the same thing with a water filter. Why do people continue to pay upwards of $3.00 a bottle for this stuff? As with the Tootsie Pop, The world may never know!
Spoiled Rotten Little Rich Bitch! – UPDATED! x2

UPDATE 06/08/07 1:01pm: She is headed back to jail! The judge has ordered her back to her cell to serve out the rest of her 45 day sentance! Good for him! Not caving into the family!
——————————————
As many of you have probably already heard, that sniveling little beyotch, Paris, has been released from jail today. And for what? She had a “Medical Condition?!?!” A nervous break Don’t they have doctors at jails to take care of sick people? Oh, wait, I forgot… She’s got money!
This is a huge slap in the face of a justice system that already has proven to be corrupt and unfair. If this had ben joan schmoe crying and not eating and having a nervous break down, they’d be told to suck it up, they’re in jail for Crap’s Sake!
I am so tired of this spoiled brat… She says she has learned a valuable lesson, and hopes others learn from her. Yeah, they all just learned that money will buy you freedom! That’s not cool! I hope there is more fallout from this decision! Idealy, her back in jail, but I know that will never happen!
And, so now she is in house arrest for the next 40 days… And where? At the Hilton Mansion with servents, fresh air, and all the ammenities she could possibly want. That’s not house arrest… That is most people’s heaven! If you ask me, house arrest should be at a slum in East LA for the next 40 days, or a pig farm where she has to sleep with the swine!
So, what does a person do on her first night of house arrest do? Why throw a “Sprung from Jail” party. She can’t go to the clubs, so why not bring the party to her? If you couldn’t tell, this has me more than riled up!

UPDATE 06/07/07 7pm: Paris has been ordered by the same judge that put her behind bars to appear before him tomorrow morning in court. He has apparently questioned whether Sheriff Baca should be held in contempt of court for letting Hilton leave this morning. He is going to determine if she is to go back to jail… Given the past decisions from the judge, I expect to see her back in jail by tomorrow evening!
