Help Me Honor Howard’s Battle!
Sep 2nd
This past year my long-time best friend, Howard Semones, battled Lymphoma. He was diagnosed in early February, and luckily it was caught soon enough that they were able to battle it quickly and defeat it. Unfortunately, there are many others out there that are not as lucky.
I am asking for your help raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Rocky Mountain Chapter. When you donate, you will be helping to fund lifesaving research and provide help and hope to thousands of families. To make an online donation, simply click on the above secure link. You will receive a confirmation by email detailing your donation. I appreciate your support.
Monkeys to Throw A Benefit for Howard
May 4th
If you are in Denver, and want to go out for a good laugh for a good cause, then May 12th is the day for you!! The Monkey’s of Monkey’s Uncle are throwing a benefit show for my good friend, and their director Howard. As you may know, he was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma.
All admission from Monday’s show will be going directly to Howard to help him pay his cancer bills. If you can’t make it, but would still like to help out, he has a direct donation button, where you can make a donation to him. All the male cast members will be having their heads shaved live at the show to show their solidarity for Howard. It promises to be a totally crass and humorous look at cancer.
The show will be Monday, May 12th at 7:30pm. It is at Jazz @ Jacks, located on the third floor of the Denver Pavilions next to the United Artist Theater. Cover is $10 (all proceeds going to Howard’s Cancer Fund) and there is a two item minimum. Hope to see some of you there! But if you can’t make it, please do consider donating to his fund!
You will find the donate button in my sidebar to the right.
Matt2′s Bachelor Party in Orlando
Feb 27th
Last week my friend Matt2 had his bachelor party down in Florida. A fun time was had by all… Here is a video montage tribute to the fun we had in the rain and sun. It is a large file, so it might take a while to play, and requires quicktime.
A Rough Week For Friends…
Sep 12th
I am writing to ask for my blogging friends out there to keep a number of mine and Dan’s friends in their thoughts… This has been a rough time for them. I warn you this is a real downer post.
One of our friends was hit this weekend with a severe infection in her leg. The docor informed her she needed surgery right away or she would probably lose her leg. Fortunately she was home visiting her parents, so she has someone around to take care of her, unfortunately, her 17 year old cat back home has gone into renal failure and will most likely not survive till she gets home, as she could be layed up for 2 months.
Another good friend has also gotten some weird bacterial infection and is laid up in bed for a bit while things heal and get better.
Our friend in Amsterdam has also been having problems, and went in for surgery to have a sandokan kidney stone removed. She is doing better and is healing.
And, Mandrake, Spicy’s cat that lost a limb earlier this year after being hit, has had another mishap. As a result he may be blind in one eye as well as suffer brain damage.
It’s times like this that I wonder why bad things continually happen to good people! All three of them are in my thoughts, and would appreciate any thoughts you can put out there for our friends!
It’s Bacon!
Aug 12th
This morning, we went to meet my God Sister, her Partner and my Mom for brunch up at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. It’s a beautiful setting right at the base of the Flatirons. I haven’t seen Melissa since I was like 6 or 7. She and her partner Kathrine were in town visiting Katherine’s brother.
It’s amazing how so many years can go by, and yet you can still have a connection. The brought their six month old son Ian to brunch. I must say, one of the cutest and most well behaved babies I have ever met. He was quiet, adorable, and just plain entertaining!
Both Melissa and Katherine are vegetarian, so I am sure this picture of Ian has them a little worried that there son might grow up to be a meat eater.
